Hurricane Michael

Ronnie Isley

Good day all some thoughts I have had over the last few days. Storm Michael came and caused much damage at our farm. Trees down and on the barn causing much damage. I was outside when the storm came and I saw its power. One of the few times in my life I was afraid. By the grace of God I was able to free the trapped horse out of the barn and she was unhurt.

When the storm hit I was in the barn and I began to pray for safety but instead of asking for God‘s will I was telling Him what to do. After the events of the last few days I have learned to pray for God‘s will. Not what I want. God wants us to pray without ceasing asking for his will not ours. He never promised that our path would be easy but He will walk with us through the bad times. Hebrews 4 verse 16 let us come boldly unto the throne of grace that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in the time of need.

(Note from the pastor: For a variety of reasons it seemed like a good idea to invite others members of our church family to contribute to this weekly devotional. Ronnie Isley was gracious enough to agree to do so, writing about his recent experience with Hurricane Michael. Definitely worth the read. Let me know if you would like to contribute.)
